USTA Plus Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

USTA Plus is an independent, unofficial browser extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USTA or Universal Tennis (UTR) in any way.

What USTA Plus does

USTA Plus is a Chrome extension that reads the player roster table on USTA tournament players pages, looks up each listed player on UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) using your own logged-in UTR session, and displays the resulting Singles and Doubles UTR ratings directly on the USTA page next to each player's name.

Information we access

UTR login session (authentication information)

USTA Plus reads the jwt session cookie set by utrsports.net after you log into your own UTR account in your browser. This cookie is used only to send authenticated search requests to UTR's public search API on your behalf, so the extension can find UTR profiles matching the players on the USTA page you are viewing. USTA Plus does not ask for, see, or store your UTR or USTA password, and it does not modify or delete this cookie.

USTA page content

When you visit a USTA tournament players page, USTA Plus reads the visible player table on that page — player names, event names, city/state, and gender, as shown publicly on the USTA page — in order to search for matching UTR profiles and to display ratings back on the same table. This data is processed to perform the lookup and is not sold or used for any purpose unrelated to displaying UTR ratings on that page.

Aggregate tournament statistics

To power the in-extension "event difficulty" comparison (which shows how an event's average UTR compares to similar events you've previously viewed), USTA Plus sends aggregate statistics to its own backend server:

This upload does not include player names, USTA player IDs, UTR profile IDs, city/state, or your UTR login token. It is aggregate statistical data tied to a tournament event, not to an individual player or to you.

Data summary

Data Collected Where it goes Purpose

USTA player table content Read locally Sent to UTR's search API as search queries; not sent to our server Find matching UTR profiles for players on the page
Aggregate UTR rating statistics Computed locally Sent to our backend (ustrfinder.uc.r.appspot.com) Power the event difficulty comparison feature
Extension settings Stored locally chrome.storage.sync (your Google account's Chrome sync, not our servers) Remember your preferences (auto-analyze, UTR result count, etc.)

What we do not do

Third parties

USTA Plus sends search requests directly to UTR's (Universal Tennis Rating) public search API using your own authenticated session. Your use of UTR's service remains subject to UTR's own privacy policy and terms. USTA Plus does not control and is not responsible for how UTR handles data on its own platform.

Data retention

Aggregate tournament statistics sent to our backend are retained to power the difficulty comparison feature across sessions. Since this data is aggregate and not tied to an individual player or user, there is no per-user record to delete. Extension settings stored via chrome.storage.sync remain until you remove the extension or clear your Chrome sync data.
